Limit switches are used for visual position indication as well as remote indication of the valve's open or closed position. The enclosures are typically made of tropicalized aluminum and are flameproof, explosion proof, and intrinsically safe. They can be equipped with SPDT or DPDT mechanical switches or proximity switches for extreme hazardous locations.
